Elasticity and plasticity
Do load shocks produce recovery (elastic region) or retained structural change (plastic region)? Where is the threshold, and does it move?
HYPOTHESISCORPUS / 01
The programme studies governed co-evolution between a situated host (a small services company in the interior of Bahia, Brazil) and a symbiont system made of models, context, tools, memory and rules. The question is whether that relationship can improve the host's operation measurably and reversibly without transferring decision or responsibility. This page gathers what the programme commits to prove, how it intends to prove it, and at which gate it stands.

P1
HYPOTHESISThe object is a governance architecture, not the cognition of a model. A proposal recorded on 23 July 2026, still classified as a hypothesis in the archive, formulates: the Symbiontes architecture is a governance architecture, made of roles, gates and receipts. What is observed is the relationship: who authorises, who executes, what returns as evidence and what remains as memory.
RECORDED FACTThe central question, in the terms of the canonical thesis of September 2026: can a frugal architecture, with several AI vendors, produce repeated improvement in at least two operational dimensions of the host, without degrading the safeguards, and can it be withdrawn leaving the host better, documented and operational?
Do load shocks produce recovery (elastic region) or retained structural change (plastic region)? Where is the threshold, and does it move?
HYPOTHESISCan the host keep operating if the symbiont withdraws? Export coverage, multi-vendor continuity, restoration and reconstruction from the vault are the proposed measures.
HYPOTHESISIs what worked once in host zero portable? Nothing receives the label “portable” for having worked once; gate G3 requires a second host.
HYPOTHESISP2
The thesis was promoted to canonical on 6 September 2026 by human decision, with a stamp that matters more than the title: it does not state that the gates were passed.
The canonical is the formulation of the thesis, not its proof.
Reference thesis, opening note (6 Sep 2026)
| Plane | What it holds | Invariant |
|---|---|---|
| Kernel | Portable cross-domain invariants: human sovereignty, states of knowledge, authorisation, provenance, lease and idempotency, reversal, interface contracts. | Never lives inside a vault the loop feeds. |
| Domain pack | Reusable knowledge of a sector or function. | Travels; the data does not. |
| Host instance | Configuration, roles, tools, policies and adaptations of one organisation, with minimal data. | A dimension of the topology (vaults × sides × hosts), not new vaults. |
| Evidence & learning plane | Events, metrics, incidents, tests and decisions. | Source of every gate. |
RECORDED FACTThe four planes replaced, on 2 August 2026, an earlier two-level formulation (core × host instance), judged insufficient in the adversarial review between two AIs from different vendors. In the same review, “impossibility of dissociation” was replaced by “deep co-evolution with sovereign exit”.
object := ⟨ scope ∈ {LOCAL, PACK, KERNEL} , maturity ∈ {RAW, CANDIDATE, VALIDATED, CANONICAL} ⟩P3
Deep co-evolution with sovereign exit. Symbiontes must be able to withdraw leaving the host better, documented and operational.
Principle approved on 2 Aug 2026; kept in the canonical thesis
RECORDED FACTThe principle was born from a correction. The founder's original intuition was that symbiosis generated irreversible coupling, an “impossibility of dissociation”. The adversarial review reframed it: deep coupling can generate value, but irreversible dependence generates lock-in, reputational risk and endless artisanal service; the desirable symbiosis is continuity by value, not technical impossibility of separation.
| Sovereignty metric | Target hypothesis | State |
|---|---|---|
| Export coverage | 100% of critical objects exportable | no real trial |
| Multi-vendor continuity | 100% of critical steps with tested continuity | no real trial |
| Restoration | defined scenario, minimal operation, recovery point and time objectives | no real trial |
| Handoff | transfer of operation to another responsible party, documented | no real trial |
| Reconstruction from the vault | rebuild the operation from the vault alone | no real trial |
P4
Gates by evidence, not by calendar. The programme expressly refused the rule of “waiting six or twelve months”; each gate has an observable criterion.
| Gate | Criterion | State on the date of the text |
|---|---|---|
| G0 · Kernel baseline | Independent kernel release, with manifest. | NOT PASSED |
| G1 · Internal reliability | Repeated operation without relevant incident in host zero. | NOT PASSED |
| G2 · Internal result | Baseline and repeated improvement in at least two operational dimensions, without degrading safeguards. | NOT PASSED |
| G3 · Transferability | Transfer to a second host with a privacy gate. | NOT PASSED / not started |
| G4 · Design partner | Eligible design partner. | NOT ELIGIBLE / BLOCKED |
| G5 · Productisation | Defined product. | NOT ELIGIBLE / BLOCKED |
RECORDED FACTA circularity was corrected between revisions 4 and 5 of the thesis: G0 became the baseline of the candidate kernel, and G3 came to require transfer plus a privacy gate before any promotion to validated. There is no shortcut: a pilot proves only its own slice.
P5
The canonical thesis lists five named hypotheses and, for each, what would refute it. The table below is an editorial synthesis of the names and of the refutation criterion implicit in each.
| Hypothesis | What it claims | What would refute it |
|---|---|---|
| H-VALUE | The relationship produces measurable improvement in the host. | Absence of repeated improvement in two dimensions, against a baseline. |
| H-TRANSFER | The method travels to a second host. | Transfer failure or the need to rewrite the kernel. |
| H-DIFFERENTIATION | The architecture differs usefully from close alternatives. | Equivalence with resilience, ambidexterity or already-published context protocols. |
| H-ECONOMY | The cost of operating the relationship is lower than the value generated. | Cost-as-data showing otherwise; no measurement yet. |
| H-EXIT | The host keeps operating without the symbiont. | Failure in any sovereignty metric in the real trial. |
P6
Fixed on 23 August 2026, during the prior-art review, as a condition for any future trial to count.
HYPOTHESISNone of the six had been tried by the cut. The verification scale adopted has five orthogonal axes (access, independence, editorial status, relevance and adversarial review) and one hard rule: a claim only leaves the hypothesis state with full access to the text, verified source independence and at least one adversarial round; multiple addresses for the same paper never raise independence.
P7
RECORDED FACTTwelve propositions of the programme were confronted with the literature in August 2026 and sorted into six boxes: KNOWN · ADAPTATION · SYNTHESIS · HYPOTHESIS · CONTRADICTION · POTENTIAL CONTRIBUTION. The result downgraded much of what had looked original.
| Proposition | Classification after the review |
|---|---|
| P1 · vendor heterogeneity and frugality | EMPIRICAL ADAPTATION |
| P4 · consensus, reversibility and veto as a mechanism | SYNTHESIS TO TEST (under pressure from published protocols) |
| P9 · catalogue of multi-AI incidents in an SME | POTENTIAL EMPIRICAL CONTRIBUTION |
| P10 · organisational elastoplasticity | FALSIFIABLE HYPOTHESIS under high prior-art pressure |
| P11 · longitudinal case of a Brazilian SME | UMBRELLA CANDIDATE |
| P3, P5, P6, P7, P8, P12 | KNOWN or ADAPTATION |
P10 (elastoplasticity) downgraded to HYPOTHESIS — a term that does not exist in organisational theory, but whose semantic space is occupied by resilience/ambidexterity/antifragility; high risk of redundancy.
Prior-art review, round 1 (2 Aug 2026)
P8
Defined on 17 July 2026 and kept: three parallel sequences with independent vetoes. Removing one veto does not remove the others, and no technical gate replaces human authorisation for preprint, submission or publication.
| Sequence | Stages |
|---|---|
| Scientific | G0 Capture → G1 Triage → G2 Novelty → G3 Protocol → G4 Evidence → G5 Drafting → G6 Method → G7 Integrity, ethics and property → G8 External review → G9 Submission → G10 Post-publication |
| Economic | E0 Not assessed → E1 Value mapped → E2 Protection defined → E3 Monetisation defined → E4 Capital approved; EV = economic veto at any stage |
| Security | S0 Not assessed → S1 Risk mapped → S2 Mitigation defined → S3 Institutional shield active → S4 Security approved; SV = security veto |
P9
RECORDED FACTThe use axis was added on 28 September 2026 after a diagnosis by the founder: a great deal had stayed in draft “awaiting an acceptance” and never became valid or canonical, forming a graveyard of drafts. The inventory made the same day found 1,609 candidate or draft items; 34 documents were promoted to validated by human act on 28 Sep, with three left for a later stamp.
